Save with a Budget Austrian Airline Niki
Niki is a low-cost Austrian Airline operating from Vienna International Airport. It offers flights to Europe and North Africa, North and South America, Asia and the Caribbean. The airline got its start in 2003 when Grand Prix veteran Niki Lauda acquired Aero Lloyd Austria. Niki began operations in November 2003.
In 2004, a cooperative partnership with Air Berlin was announced and by 2011 a merger with Air Berlin would come to pass. This would mean sharing operations, booking systems as well as aircraft with Air Berlin. In 2012, the airline became affiliated to Oneworld. This alliance means that where the airline doesn't travel to a chosen destination, the journey may be completed with one of the Oneworld partner airlines. In 2015m, its fleet was replaced with Airbus A319-100s from Air Berlin. In 2016 Air Berlin sold its 49 percent stake in the airline to Etihad Airways which merged with the airline, forming a partnership with TUIfly. At present, the company offers flights on Airbus A321 and is still partnered with Air Berlin.
