Your weekend in Hamburg starts here

An international port, modern buildings as works of art, lively shopping streets and a unique culture. For many people, the great metropolis of Hamburg is a transfer point on their way to distant destinations. But the airport is not the only impressive thing about the city. Let yourself be charmed by the iconic architecture of the Speicherstadt district and the Elbphilharmonie. Go to Hamburg for a weekend and see for yourself.

Where should you start? In 48 hours, we'll take you to the different hotspots and hidden gems in the city. You'll be well prepared to kick off your weekend in Hamburg. It's so handy!

Day 1 - During the day
Who makes a better breakfast than your mother? That is why the restaurant Mutterland makes you a breakfast like your mother's. With great coffee, sandwiches and sweets. The restaurant is located near Hamburg Central Station, so it's a good place to start your day! It puts you right in the centre to explore Hamburg for the rest of the day.

In Hamburg, you can enjoy a special dinner in and around the shopping street Jungfernstieg. There are so many different restaurants. One of the best must be Beisser Steak & Grill, on the 4th floor of the huge department store Alsterhaus. You can enjoy a delicious steak in a friendly environment, and continue shopping afterwards. But remember: the restaurant closes on time, so don't wait too long to go and get your dinner.

The next day...

Time for your second day in this bustling city! Begin your day quietly with a vegetarian breakfast at Café Koppel. This restaurant specialises in vegetarian and vegan food and does it so well that it's even a real hotspot for non-vegetarians. You can then walk past the neighbours of Koppel 66, a studio for arts and crafts.

Day 2 - During the day
After a well-earned brunch, take the metro to Miniatur Wunderland. This is a park similar to the Dutch Madurodam, but with iconic buildings from Germany and the rest of the world. Miniatur Wunderland is located on the edge of Speicherstadt, the area you visited yesterday.
