Jet Airways stops the execution of flights
One of the major players in India. Even though the airline has declared bankruptcy, there is still talk of a possible restart.
Air India is an alternative to Jet Airways. You can find other airlines on our airlines page.

One Of India's Most Awarded Airlines
Indian carrier Jet Airways has gone from operating a fleet of 4 planes to becoming India's second largest airline in the middle of a very competitive market. The airline began operating as a domestic air taxi provider in 1993, and international flights to nearby countries only started a decade later. To this day, Jet Airways focuses on running flights within India, but it also serves more than 20 international destinations in several Asian and European countries as well as in North America and the Gulf. Among the awards it has received, we can highlight several recognitions in categories like Best Loyalty Programme, Best Domestic Airline, Best In-Flight Entertainment and Most Respected Company.
Flying with Jet Airways
Cabin classes are classified into Economy, Premier and First, although First Class seats are only available in international routes. Premier seats come with 100 cm of legroom and in international routes they can be set up as a bed. First Class features private suites with mood lighting, wardrobe space and separate dining areas.
There are 9 fare categories split over the three different cabin classes. Generally speaking, Light, Deal and Saver fares are non-refundable. Classic fares allow changes and refunds at a charge, and Flex fares offer total flexibility and the option to upgrade. Another thing to note is that for a small fee, you can lock a low fare for up to 72 hours without purchasing the full ticket. Another way of saving on fares (if you are a frequent flyer) is to register with the airline's award-winning loyalty programme, called Jet Privilege.
Check-in is available online and at the airport. Airport check-in includes self-service options using dedicated kiosks and counter check-in. In certain departure points, travellers can check-in by phone, via Twitter and at designated public transportation hubs. E-boarding passes issued during online or mobile check in are only accepted at certain airports, so make sure to check the relevant regulations beforehand.
- The checked baggage allowance varies based on ticket class, passenger age, route, the country where the ticket was issued and seasonal factors. There is a practical baggage allowance calculator at the airline's Baggage Information website section (see below). In most cases, the airline accepts one or two bags per traveller of between 30 and 40 kg (66-88 lbs), or applies a per-piece system on flights to North America and the Far East.
- Carry-on is limited to one piece between 7 and 10 kg (15-22 lbs) depending on ticket class and aircraft type. The total dimensions of a cabin bag should not be above 115 linear centimetres. Travellers should also note that on certain routes there is a ban on electronic devices larger than a mobile phone.
